Reach Professional Excellence with AMTA

The mission of the American Massage Therapy Association is to serve AMTA members while advancing the art, science and practice of massage therapy.

The American Massage Therapy Association requires that its Professional members:

  • Graduate from a minimum 500 in-class-hour massage therapy training program, or
  • Pass the National Certification Examination in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, or
  • Possess a current AMTA-accepted license to practice, and
  • Earn continuing education credit, and
  • Uphold the AMTA Code of Ethics.

AMTA offers the most comprehensive benefits for its members such as liability insurance, educational opportunties, lobbying and legislation, healthcare updates, publications and volunteer opportunites to name a few.

I proudly serve on the Board of Directors for AMTA-NY as the 3rd Vice President. I am also the Unit Operations Chair and Website Manager and past Secretary for the AMTA-NY Chapter.  The experience of being a part of this organization has been far more rewarding than I ever expected.  The Board of Directors, Committee Chairs, Unit Chairs and Volunteers give tirelessly to the Members of AMTA-NY and the public in support of massage therapy education.
